Vi ønsker deg hjertelig velkommen til åpningen av Transitions, en utstilling av Karl Bird.

Karl Bird, født i 1986, ble utdannet i Birmingham, Storbritannia. I 2011 flyttet han til Bergen, hvor han lever av og driver sin kunstpraksis.

Birds arbeid fokuserer rundt miljøet og dets grenser og kontraster. Utstillingen vil vise hans nyeste malerier som er inspirert av hans turer rundt i Bergen. Han er interessert i overgangene mellom natur- og bymiljøet, noe som er et særtrekk for Bergen. Dette er også mye av grunnen til at kunstneren har blitt så forelsket i denne byen.

Ved siden av sin kunstpraksis jobber Karl Bird også som DJ. Det blir DJ-opptredener på kvelden med artisten, MarkQ og Richard Blanco. Dans vil bli oppmuntret!

We wish you a warm welcome to the opening of Transitions, an exhibition by Karl Bird.

Karl Bird 1986, was educated in Birmingham,UK. He moved to Bergen in 2011, where he continues to live and pursue his art practice.

Bird's work focuses around the environment and its borders and contrasts. The exhibition will show his most recent paintings which have been inspired by his walks around Bergen. He is interested in the transitions between the natural environment and the urban environment which is a characteristic very specific to Bergen which is part of the reason the artist has become so enamoured with this city.

Alongside his art practice Karl Bird is also works as a DJ. There will be DJ performances on the evening with the artist and some of his friends, MarkQ and Richard Blanco. Dancing will be encouraged.
